Defrosting the fridge freezer

- 1. Unplug the fridge freezer from the mains.
- 2. Open the fridge and freezer door.
- 3. Remove any food from the fridge and freezer, then remove the racks, shelves and drawers.
- 4. Leave the fridge and freezer doors open to defrost.To speed up the defrosting you can place containers of lukewarm water in the freezer compartment.Ventilate the room thoroughly to speed up the process.
- 5. Leave the fridge freezer to defrost for at least 24 hours.Caution: Never use sharp objects to scrape off ice, as this may damage the fridge freezer.Warning: Do not use detergents, soaps or abrasive products to clean the fridge freezer.
- 6. When the fridge freezer if fully defrosted, wipe down the base, sides and top of the compartments to remove any excess water.
- 7. Clean the racks, shelves and salad drawer.
- 8. Replace the racks, shelves and drawers.
- 9. Close the fridge and freezer doors.
- 10. Plug the fridge freezer into the mains and switch on.
- 11. Let the fridge freezer run for at least 2 hours on a colder setting before adding the food.
